About Le Blog

Bienvenue to the Modern French blog! Here you can learn how to live a modern, stylish life focused on good food, good wine, and good times.

There’s nothing I love more than inviting people over for an evening of wining and dining at our petite maison. This space was created so that you too can host dinner parties where the food tastes great, the wine goes down easy, and you can enjoy the company of your guests without stressing over the details.

You’ll quickly learn that I’m a big fan of Trader Joe’s. From picking out a new cheese for our cheese dome to trying a new wine bottle and purchasing the best French-inspired food, I find their products to be high quality and highly affordable.

Besides the wining and dining, I sometimes write about my obsession with the French including the way they dress, the way they talk, and the interesting bits about their culture. Minimalism also speaks to my soul so you’ll see that pop up every once in a while.

You can expect a new post every two weeks, however sometimes I post weekly. In the meantime, you can scroll through the Modern French Blog Archives.

About La Femme

Bonjour! My name is Alyssa Pacaut. I’m a French-obsessed minimalist who believes in creativity, quality over quantity, and laughing whenever you get the chance.

When I was a little one, my mom fed me some filet mignon. Apparently, I ate it up quickly and immediately asked for more. She loves telling this story because it’s a good example of who I am today, i.e. a gourmande with a healthy appetite and a taste for the finer things.

Arnaud, known as the monsieur around these parts, is the perfect partner in life and entertaining thanks to his French upbringing. Outside of BBQing and pouring wine like a champ, he’s a furniture designer over at Le Cali Designs who is as kind as he is talented. Also, rumor has it he sparked my petit French obsession.

We’ve carved out a nice Cali-Frenchie life for ourselves here in sunny Southern California. If you are ever in the neighborhood, then we’ve got a list of our favorite bars and restaurants over in The Unofficial Guide to Long Beach.

Meeting new people and connecting with like-minded souls are high on my list. Reach out by emailing me at modernfrenchblog[at]gmail[dot]com. I’d love the chance to connect with you!
